Metalex performs knife bright hardening. It is one of our foremost specialties. As a result, we have expertise with many different types of knife steels and blade shapes and sizes. We recently performed heat treating for Kopis Designs. They are a custom knife maker in Colorado. Making knives with great craftmanship and high quality steel. We were able to heat treat these to 61 HRC using our proprietary setup in our vacuum furnace. As a result the knives come out super clean with no distortion or warping. When we heat treat knives we employ a proprietary fixturing system ensuring blades do not warp during the hardening process. Metalex is able to achieve the high hardness knife blades require using our vacuum hardening process. As a result our knife bright hardening process keeps the blades clean. They look better than before they were heat treated. This also cuts down on any post-processing that would need to be done with oil hardened blades.
